Founding Engineer | Backend Infrastructure / AI Agents | TypeScript | Python | Must have startup experience

Salary: $150,000 – $225,000 + 1–2% equity

Contract: Permanent

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite once office is established)

ℹ️ Very Important Notes

This is a hands-on infrastructure and AI deployment role — not suitable for pure data science or ML research profiles
You must be comfortable owning reliability, security, and deployment in a fast-moving enterprise environment
Some customer-facing work is required to understand and support deployments
High autonomy expected — you design, build, ship, and iterate fast

Must-Haves

Strong backend infrastructure or SRE/DevOps engineering background
Experience building and owning secure, multi-tenant production infrastructure
Expertise with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Ability to work independently across ambiguous, high-stakes environments
Startup mindset — scrappy, high-energy, and able to move fast
1–5 years of professional software engineering experience

Bonus Experience

Experience deploying or managing production AI agents
Familiarity with enterprise security practices (SOC 2 readiness etc.)
Background in VC-backed startup environments
Full-stack engineering exposure (TypeScript, Python, Next.js, React)
CI/CD ownership and reliability engineering at scale

What You'll Be Doing

Infrastructure Ownership

Design and build secure, multi-tenant cloud infrastructure for enterprise customers from the ground up
Own CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native deployment, reliability, and enterprise-grade security
Build and maintain isolated environments with data separation, access controls, and audit trails

AI Agent Deployment

Deploy and manage production AI agents that own real developer workflows end-to-end
Build agent-based systems capable of running long-lived, stateful workflows including document ingestion and retrieval pipelines

Founding Contributions

Work directly with the founding team to shape product direction
Build internal tooling that accelerates development speed
Play a key role in how the engineering function is built and scaled
