Full Stack Engineer
About Coral Care
Coral Care is building a trusted brand at the intersection of consumer and health. Families come to us when something feels off with their child. Clinicians join us to build meaningful practices without burning out.
We are a Series A company expanding across multiple markets. As we grow, we need stronger technical foundations behind how families get matched, providers get supported, and care actually gets delivered.
This role helps build those foundations.
The Role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the technical foundation of Coral Care's next phase of growth. You'll report directly to our Head of Engineering and work across the entire stack — from the React frontend that families and providers interact with, to the Node.js services that power our marketplace, matching logic, clinical workflows, and AI-powered systems that support care delivery and decision-making.
A core part of this role is owning our API and data layer. You'll work pragmatically within our current systems while making smart architectural choices that don't create unnecessary technical debt for tomorrow.
You'll have real ownership here — over architectural decisions, over how we build software, and over the direction of the product. You'll work cross-functionally with our operations, clinical, and go-to-market teams on problems that matter to real families and therapists.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement marketplace and matching systems — including AI-driven tools — that connect families with the right providers in their area.
- Own and evolve our API and data layer — building on the current platform while architecting for the future
- Build and extend Coral Care's core platform across the full stack — TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Develop clinical and operational tooling that supports care delivery, scheduling, and provider management
- Collaborate directly with the Head of Engineering on architectural decisions and technical direction
- Work cross-functionally with operations, clinical leadership, and go-to-market teams to translate business needs into well-built software
- Help ensure our systems meet healthcare privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA compliance
- Contribute to building a team culture rooted in high standards, clear thinking, and mutual respect
What We're Looking For
You must have:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience — you've built, shipped, and maintained production systems at scale
- Fluency in more than one statically typed language — we work primarily in TypeScript, but we value engineers who think beyond a single ecosystem
- Strong opinions about the craft of software — you care about code quality, system design, testing, and the long-term health of what you build
- A modern, intentional approach to AI in your workflow — you know how to leverage AI agents and tools for the tasks they're genuinely good at
- Deep understanding of API design and data access patterns — you've built, consumed, and evolved API layers and know how to make sound decisions about data modeling, access patterns, and abstraction boundaries
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience building marketplace, matching, or network-effect products — particularly in hyper-local or two-sided contexts
- Data engineering experience — building pipelines, working with analytics infrastructure, or designing systems that support data-driven decisions
- Mobile application development experience — particularly in shared-source frameworks like Flutter or React Native
- Experience building and operating cloud-native solutions — infrastructure as code, containerization, CI/CD in a modern cloud environment
- Familiarity with healthcare technology and the regulatory landscape (HIPAA, PHI handling, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $175,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience
- Competitive medical coverage for you and your family
- Meaningful equity ownership in a growing Series A company
- Generous PTO policy plus paid holidays
- Paid parental leave
- Hybrid work model
- Access to a 401(k) plan
- The opportunity to build durable infrastructure in a mission-driven company
