WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• The Back-End Platform — Architect, build, and scale our core services in Python and Django, backed by PostgreSQL, running on AWS. You’ll own the systems that power whole-person care decision support for thousands of providers.

• AI Feature Development — Design and ship AI-powered capabilities—from LLM-based Whole-Person Care recommendations and NLP-driven SDOH extraction to intelligent care plan generation. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and applied AI.

• EHR Integrations — Build and maintain robust integrations with Epic, athenaOne, Healthie, and other EHR platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and real-time responsiveness within clinical workflows.

• Infrastructure & DevOps — Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security—keeping our platform performant, reliable, and HIPAA-compliant.

• AI-Accelerated Development — Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Cursor across the engineering team. Help define how we leverage these tools to ship faster and with higher quality.

• Technical Leadership — Take ownership of projects end-to-end, from architecture through deployment. Contribute to code reviews, technical decisions, and mentoring as the team grows.

YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 7+ years of professional experience building and scaling back-end systems and production applications

• Expert-level Python and Django skills with strong PostgreSQL database design and query optimization experience

• Significant hands-on AWS experience: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudWatch, or equivalent

• Strong DevOps fundamentals: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerization (Docker), monitoring, and logging

• Fluency with core SWE tooling: Git (branching strategies, PRs, rebasing), Jira, bash/shell scripting, and Linux environments

• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs at scale

• Demonstrated, daily use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar). This is non-negotiable

• Experience building secure, HIPAA compliant web applications

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

• Strong documentation practices: clean code comments, API docs, architectural decision records

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Healthcare technology experience, especially EHR integrations (Epic, FHIR, HL7)

• Experience building AI/ML-powered features in production: LLM integrations, NLP pipelines, prompt engineering, RAG architectures

• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, and/or HITRUST compliance requirements

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer)

• Experience with data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Step Functions, or similar)

• A track record of shipping in early-stage startup environments
