Job Title: Senior Engineer I, AI Analytics

POSITION SUMMARY:

We're looking for a software engineer who thinks like a product builder to design and develop our next-generation AI-based data insights and analytics platform. You'll architect and build real-time data infrastructure and high-performance jobs that power intelligent, actionable insights for our organization.

This is a transformational role. While you'll maintain our existing data warehouse during the migration, your primary focus will be building the future—a modern, AI-native analytics platform from the ground up. You'll work at the intersection of software engineering, data architecture, and AI to create systems that don't just store data, but actively generate insights and drive decision-making.

If you're a builder who loves solving complex problems, designing elegant systems, and leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to deliver exceptional outcomes, we want to hear from you.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build Next-Gen AI-Based Analytics Platform

  • Design and develop an AI-native data insights and analytics platform that delivers real-time, intelligent insights to business stakeholders.
  • Integrate AI agents, LangChain, LangGraph, and other AI frameworks as core platform capabilities, not afterthoughts.
  • Build APIs and microservices that power analytics features and serve insights to end users.
  • Create user-facing analytics capabilities that are intuitive, fast, and powered by AI.
  • Architect Real-Time Data Infrastructure
  • Design and implement real-time data pipelines using streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, etc.).
  • Build event-driven architectures that process and analyze data as it arrives.
  • Create high-performance data processing jobs optimized for speed and scalability.
  • Ensure data flows are reliable, monitored, and self-healing.
  • Software Engineering Excellence
  • Apply software engineering best practices: clean code, testing, CI/CD, version control, code reviews.
  • Write production-grade Python and SQL code that is maintainable, testable, and well-documented.
  • Design systems with scalability, observability, and reliability in mind.
  • Build with modern development practices and tools.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in data systems and processes.
  • Experiment with new technologies and approaches to solve complex data challenges.
  • Drive innovation by proposing and implementing creative solutions.
  • Take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution—be a self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do.
  • Migration and Maintenance
  • Support and maintain existing data warehouse infrastructure during the transition period.
  • Plan and execute migration strategies from legacy systems to the new platform.
  • Ensure business continuity while building the future state architecture.
  • Collaboration and Leadership
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the data engineering practice.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leverage AI for Development
  • Use AI tools (including Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate development and improve productivity—we care about outcomes, not how you get there.
  • Stay current with AI/ML advancements and identify opportunities to leverage them in the platform and in your workflow.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including being present, on time, and prepared for work as scheduled.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a focus on data systems.
  • Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Spark Streaming, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience building real-time data pipelines and event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda functions, AWS Glue, and S3.
  • Experience with modern data tooling: DBT (Data Build Tool), data orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools and frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, and AI agents for automation and intelligent workflows.
  • Proven ability to design and build APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and database design is a plus.
  • Experience with JavaScript/React is a plus.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expert-level proficiency in both Python and SQL—you should be equally comfortable in both languages.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: version control (Git), testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, code quality practices.
  • Self-starter with a track record of identifying problems, proposing solutions, and driving them to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
