AI Engineer & Product Lead

A Lettermark company is hiring a senior AI Engineer to lead the design and build of an AI-enabled product for the commercial real estate industry. You'll be the first AI engineering hire and will own the agent architecture and the technical foundation of a product that changes how the industry consumes data and makes decisions.

This is a build role, not a research role. You'll ship production agents that serve real users, working directly with senior leadership with a strong track record.

What You'll Own

• Agent architecture and orchestration, including model selection, context management, tool use, and memory
• Integration of structured and unstructured data into the agent's context layer
• Retrieval and search infrastructure
• Evaluation, testing, and continuous improvement of agent performance
• Production deployment, monitoring, and reliability
• Technical decisions on infrastructure and build sequencing

What We're Looking For

• 5-8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 1-2 years building production AI or agent-based systems
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered applications, including tool use and function calling
• Strong working knowledge of retrieval and search techniques for AI applications
• Experience with at least one production deployment of an AI agent or copilot serving real users
• Comfortable owning the full stack of an AI product: data ingestion, context management, model orchestration, evaluation, and deployment
• Strong product instincts and the ability to make tradeoffs between speed, quality, and cost
• Experience operating in a fast-moving early-stage environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, or enterprise data products
• Background in building products that serve enterprise clients
• Prior startup or founding engineering experience
