AI Operations Builder
BRADEN AUTO GROUP
Job Description — AI Operations Builder
Remote — Worldwide | Full Time | Async First | Immediate Start
THE ROLE
Read this carefully before applying — this is not a typical job
This is not an IT job. It is not a project management job. It is not a consulting engagement.
Braden Auto Group is a 12-store automotive dealer group based in Chillicothe, Ohio doing $375M in annual revenue. We are building an AI-powered operating system for our business — and we want one person whose entire job is to build things. All day. Every day. Non-stop.
You will sit inside our offices and build — dashboards, bots, automations, scorecards, AI agents, data pipelines, tools, systems. When you are done building one thing you build the next. You coordinate with our developer to get your builds deployed. You report directly to the owner. You have no bureaucracy, no committee approvals, no corporate process.
If you need to be told what to build every morning this is not the right role. If you walk into a business, see ten problems immediately, and cannot help but start solving them — keep reading.
WHAT YOU BUILD — EXAMPLES FROM DAY ONE
These are real tools we are building right now
WHAT YOU BUILD
THE IMPACT
BDC response bot — every lead answered in 60 seconds 24/7 using Claude API
Contact rate goes from 52% to 80%+. Real gross dollars.
GM daily scorecard delivered to every GM's phone every morning automatically
GMs wake up knowing exactly where they stand. No report pulling.
Inventory intelligence agent — flags aged units, triggers price drops automatically
Chad stops managing a spreadsheet. The system manages itself.
Vendor invoice monitor — reads invoices and flags anything above contracted rates
Catches the Dealertrack double-billing before 2 years go by.
Acquisition underwriter — input deal data, get IRR, payback, go/no-go instantly
Every acquisition decision is data-driven in under 5 minutes.
Financial monitoring bot — Platform Manager gets a store briefing every morning at 7AM
Platform Manager walks in already knowing which stores need attention.
GOAT OPS commercial product — license our operating system to other dealer groups
Potential $3M+ ARR. A $100M exit conversation in 3-5 years.
WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE
The person we hire does these things naturally
A great day for this person:
• Walks in Monday and already knows what to build — no one tells them
• Ships a working tool before lunch — not a prototype, not a mockup, something real
• Identifies a problem we did not know we had and solves it before being asked
• Coordinates with our developer to get last week's build deployed to production
• Ends the day with a Loom video showing what shipped and what is coming next
A great week for this person:
• 3-5 working tools, automations, or systems shipped
• At least one thing deployed live to the business
• At least one thing that measurably improved a KPI — contact rate, gross, efficiency
• The backlog is longer at the end of the week than the start — because they keep finding new problems
WHAT YOU NEED — NON-NEGOTIABLE
Skills required — not preferred, required
SKILL
WHAT WE MEAN BY THIS
Claude API or OpenAI API
You have built real AI-powered tools — not just used ChatGPT. You have connected an LLM to real data and shipped something that works.
Make.com or n8n
You have built real multi-step automations that connect multiple systems. Not hello world — real business workflows.
JavaScript or Python
You can write and debug functional code. You do not need to be a senior engineer. You need to ship working scripts.
API integrations
You have connected to third-party APIs — authentication, webhooks, error handling, rate limits. Real experience, not theoretical.
Self-directed
You do not need a manager telling you what to build. You identify problems, prioritize, and ship without hand-holding.
Speed
You ship fast. A working v1 in 48 hours beats a perfect v1 in 2 weeks every time. You iterate. You do not overthink.
Bonus — not required but will make you stand out:
• Automotive industry experience
• Supabase or PostgreSQL experience
• Vercel or similar deployment experience
• Experience building commercial SaaS products
WHAT YOU DO NOT NEED
We are not looking for a resume — we are looking for proof
You do not need:
• A computer science degree
• 10 years of experience
• Experience in automotive specifically
• A long list of certifications
We do not care where you went to school or what your title was. We care what you have built and whether it worked.
COMPENSATION
Serious pay for serious output
BASE SALARY
$40,000 — $65,000 USD depending on location and demonstrated ability. Equivalent to $85-90K Ohio purchasing power in most overseas markets.
PERFORMANCE BONUS
Tied to measurable outcomes — contact rate improvement, gross lift, cost savings. Real money for real results.
GOAT OPS UPSIDE
If GOAT OPS commercializes successfully — you will participate in the upside. This is the conversation that gets serious after 90 days of proven output.
LOCATION
Remote — Worldwide. Work from anywhere. We use async communication and weekly video calls. You will be asked to visit Chillicothe, Ohio twice per year for an immersion week.
START DATE
Immediate. We are not running a 6-month hiring process.
THE APPLICATION TEST — REQUIRED
This is how you apply. No resume alone will be considered.
Every application must include a completed test. No exceptions. We do not care about your resume without it. The test tells us everything your resume cannot.
THE TEST:
Build one of the following — your choice. You have 72 hours from when you receive this description.
• Option A:
Build a Make.com automation that monitors a Google Sheet for new rows, sends the data to Claude API with a prompt that generates a one-paragraph business insight about that data, and emails the insight to a specified address. Show us the working automation with a Loom walkthrough.
• Option B:
Build a simple web dashboard using HTML/JavaScript that calls Claude API, takes a CSV of sales data as input, and displays a visual summary with AI-generated commentary on the performance. Deploy it somewhere live. Send us the URL and a Loom walkthrough.
• Option C — if you want to stand out:
Look at braden-dashboard-aeaz.vercel.app (password: Braden2026). Identify one meaningful improvement or new feature. Build it. Show us the code and a working demo. Tell us why you chose it.
Using Claude or any AI tool to help you build the test is fine — that is the job. What we are testing is whether you can ship something real that works.
HOW TO APPLY
Keep it simple — we do not want a cover letter
Send the following to rbraden@bradenauto.com with subject line: AI Builder Application — and include your country and time zone
• Your completed test — Loom video + link or files
• Two sentences on what you have built that you are most proud of
• Your LinkedIn or GitHub — so we can see your work
• Your compensation expectation
That is it. No cover letter. No lengthy application. Show us the work.
