Compound Ventures is a venture studio building AI-powered companies in real estate, finance, hospitality, personal productivity, web design and more. We move fast, build real things, and every system we build compounds on the last.

We're looking for one person in San Diego to join as an early team member. You'll sit next to the founder, work on real products with real customers, and learn more in 90 days than most people learn in two years.

What you'll actually do:

Build and deploy AI agents and software using Cursor, Claude, Gemini and modern APIs
Debug and iterate fast — you figure things out independently
Connect systems, automate workflows, turn ideas into working products
Work across multiple ventures simultaneously

You are: This role is for someone who stays up late building things nobody asked them to build. Who has more ideas than time. Who gets genuinely excited when something breaks because it means there's something to figure out. If that's you — keep reading.

Based in San Diego
Comfortable with Node.js, APIs, basic backend development
Know how to build with AI tools — Cursor, Claude, Replit
Entrepreneurial — you get excited by problems, not just tasks
Hungry to learn, humble enough to know you don't know everything
A good human — we'll be spending a lot of time together

You are NOT:

Looking for a corporate job with clear lanes
Waiting to be told what to do
Allergic to ambiguity

Compensation:

Contract to start: $20-25/hr, minimum 20 hours/week
W2 after 90 days based on performance
Real upside if you're the right person and we build something big together - I will need COOs as the various companies prove successful and, separately, there is opportunity for equity participation in certain ventures.
