Build the AI workforce for SMBs

Lieutenant is building the first AI workforce platform—deploying AI employees that execute real work across a company’s workflows. Not copilots. Not assistants.

AI employees that operate in the background.

We already have:

  • Working product + live demos (multi-agent workflows in production)
  • Real-world use cases (deal origination, pipeline management, workflow automation)
  • Clear wedge (revenue & operations workflows)
  • Early validation from operators and investors

This is not an idea.

This is a system already doing real work—ready to scale.

The Role

You will own the entire technical vision and execution:

  • Build and scale the AI workforce architecture (multi-agent systems, orchestration, memory)
  • Ship production-ready agents that execute workflows end-to-end
  • Architect integrations across core systems (CRM, email, messaging, data sources)
  • Optimize for reliability, autonomy, and real-world execution (not demos)
  • Lead technical hiring and build the engineering team

This is a 0→1 builder role, not a manager role.

What You’ll Be Building

  • AI agents that take action, not just generate text
  • Multi-agent coordination systems (agents working together across workflows)
  • Persistent memory layer across fragmented business data
  • Real-time workflow execution across systems (email, CRM, internal tools)
  • Infrastructure that enables AI employees to operate like real team members

  • Senior full-stack engineer / technical founder / staff+ level engineer
  • Has built and shipped products end-to-end (0→1 experience required)
