Office Type: Onsite 5 Days a Week

Salary: $1,50,000 - $2,25,000/Year

1. Company Description

We’re representing an early-stage healthcare AI startup tackling one of the most painful bottlenecks in modern healthcare: access. Medical staff are overwhelmed by calls, faxes, and scheduling backlogs, while patients struggle to get timely care. This isn’t a failure of medicine—it’s a failure of operational capacity. The company builds AI agents that manage the patient journey end-to-end, from appointment scheduling and referrals to prescription refills. These agents execute complex workflows with a human-like touch that patients trust and providers rely on.Backed by top-tier investors and founders from leading healthcare and AI companies, the team is growing rapidly, having achieved significant revenue growth and supporting millions of real patient interactions. The company operates fully in-person from New York City and treats in-office collaboration as a strategic advantage.

2. What You Will Do

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer delivery. This is a hands-on role where you’ll both write production code and own complex customer implementations end-to-end.You will:

  • Build and ship production systems, including integrations, AI agent configurations, and workflow logic tailored to customer environments.
  • Own technical implementations from scoping through go-live, managing timelines, dependencies, and internal coordination.
  • Architect scalable systems and repeatable playbooks that turn bespoke customer deployments into durable infrastructure.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, leading discovery sessions and resolving integration challenges.
  • Monitor and optimize AI agents in production, diagnosing failures and iterating on behavior to improve accuracy and patient experience.
  • Drive post-launch expansion by deploying new capabilities, identifying upsell opportunities, and proactively solving emerging issues.
  • Translate customer insights and field observations into clear product requirements that shape the roadmap.

3. Ideal Background

The ideal candidate is a builder-operator who enjoys working directly with customers, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to ship real systems that operate at scale.

  • 3+ years of engineering experience shipping production systems in customer-facing environments.
  • Strong hands-on coding background; this is not a pure project management role.
  • Proven experience owning complex, multi-workstream technical projects end-to-end.
  • Comfortable serving as the primary technical POC for customers, including leading architecture discussions.
  • Strong product intuition and ability to synthesize customer needs into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with minimal process.

4. Preferred

  • Experience working on AI-driven or workflow-heavy systems in production.
  • Exposure to healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience debugging complex integrations across APIs, data pipelines, and external systems.
  • Comfort operating close to LLMs or AI agents, even without deep ML specialization.

5. Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Equity: Meaningful equity ownership as an early team member.
  • Work Model: Fully onsite in New York City.
  • Benefits:
  • 100% employer-covered healthcare
  • Flexible time off
  • Commuter benefits
  • Weekly team lunches
  • Growth: Direct mentorship from founders and senior leaders with significant influence on product, process, and culture.

Why This Role Matters:

This role is core to the company’s moat. Success depends on deeply understanding customer workflows and turning that complexity into scalable systems. You’ll be the bridge between real-world healthcare operations and the product that serves millions of patients.

Equal Opportunity:

The company is committed to building an inclusive workplace. Employment decisions are based on qualifications and business needs without regard to protected characteristics. Discrimination and harassment of any kind are prohibited.
