The Opportunity

Our client, an AI-powered fitness platform, helps gyms and individuals drive real results through personalised training, nutrition, and structured challenges - delivered through a mobile app and web platform. They are a small, high-velocity team building a product they deeply believe in and actively use themselves.

The company is at an exciting stage: the foundation is in place, users are growing, and they need one exceptional engineer to take full ownership of the system and help them scale.

The Role

This isn't a typical developer role. They're hiring a Founding Engineer - someone who owns the entire platform end-to-end, makes technical decisions independently, and ships features at a pace that most teams can't match.

You'll work directly with the founding team, translating product ideas into working features across mobile, web, and backend - using AI-native workflows as a core part of how you build.

What You'll Own

• The full system: mobile (Flutter/Dart), web (React.js), backend (Python), and infrastructure (AWS)
• End-to-end feature delivery - from spec to App Store/Play Store
• Technical architecture decisions and trade-offs
• System stability: testing, debugging, monitoring, and performance
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Code quality and long-term scalability

Day-to-Day

• Build and ship new features across mobile, web, and backend
• Translate product specs and Figma designs into pixel-perfect, working features
• Use Claude Code (inside Cursor or equivalent) as an active part of your development workflow - not as a crutch, but as a multiplier
• Chain prompts, build agents, and use AI tooling to move meaningfully faster than traditional development
• Raise issues, challenge assumptions, and suggest better approaches - not just execute
• Manage deployments to AWS, App Store, and Play Store

Who We're Looking For

Must-have:

• Degree from a reputed engineering institution in India (IIT, NIT, BITS, or equivalent top-ranked college)
• 2–4 years of hands-on engineering experience - you've built and shipped real products
• Strong full-stack capability across frontend, backend, and mobile
• Proficiency in React.js, Python, and Flutter/Dart - or demonstrated ability to rapidly adapt
• Genuinely AI-native: you already use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar in your daily workflow and it shows in your output
• Strong product thinking - you ask why before you ask how
• Excellent written and spoken English (non-negotiable - you'll communicate directly with UK-based founders)
• High ownership mindset: you don't wait to be told; you figure it out

Nice-to-have:

• Experience shipping to App Store and Play Store
• Familiarity with AWS and DevOps practices
• Ability to work in Figma - design iteration is a plus
• You're genuinely into fitness - ideally, this is a product you'd use yourself
