Salary: $170,000-$185,000 base.

Company Description:

We’re representing an early-stage, venture-backed startup building a next-generation AI-powered Sales Co-Pilot and CRM purpose-built for the industrial distribution and steel industries. The company is modernizing how industrial businesses manage customer relationships, sales workflows, and communication by combining modern SaaS architecture with applied generative AI.

The business is experiencing strong market pull, closing high five-figure and six-figure contracts, onboarding customers rapidly, and scaling faster than the team can currently ship. This is a hands-on, high-impact environment where engineers are expected to move quickly, think clearly, and build systems that operate under real production pressure.

The platform blends proprietary industry data with large language models to help distributors grow revenue, unlock new customer opportunities, and manage complex industrial workflows more effectively.

What You Will Do:

As a Founding Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping both the product and the technical foundation of the platform. You’ll work end-to-end across the Sales Co-Pilot and CRM, building AI-driven features while owning core infrastructure and integrations.

You will:

Design and implement full-stack features across a modern CRM and AI-powered sales platform.
Build and maintain integrations with ERPs, email systems, telephony providers, and third-party APIs.
Develop and evolve GraphQL APIs to support scalable, flexible client experiences.
Integrate and optimize LLM-powered automation features that directly impact customer workflows.
Deploy, manage, and scale applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
Collaborate closely with product and sales teams to deeply understand user needs and translate them into high-quality features.
Take strong ownership over product quality, system reliability, and technical decision-making.

Ideal Background:

The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer who enjoys early-stage environments, takes pride in product ownership, and is excited to build AI-native software from the ground up.

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
Experience building modern frontends with TypeScript and React.
Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating external services.
Familiarity with GraphQL (experience with Graphene is a plus).
Understanding of Kubernetes-based deployment and orchestration.
Experience building or integrating generative AI and LLM-powered features.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable working onsite in New York City 3–5 days per week.
4. PreferredPrior experience building or working with CRMs.
Experience integrating email and telephony systems.
Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or steel-related domains.
Experience with prompt engineering or LLM fine-tuning.
CI/CD pipeline experience.
Familiarity with automation or scripting tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $170,000-$185,000 base.
