Founding Engineer (Product / AI / Full-Stack)

This is an early-stage company building software that helps organisations work smarter with complex data and workflows.

They’re focused on replacing manual, fragmented ways of working with more automated, intelligent systems. The aim is to improve how high-value work gets done across teams.

The work sits across AI, product, and infrastructure. It’s not research-led. It’s about building tools that people rely on day to day.

They’re well-backed and still small. You’ll be joining early, working closely with a tight group of talented individuals, and helping shape both the product and how the team builds.

The role:

As a Founding Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building the core product from the ground up.

• You’ll design and build systems that handle multi-step workflows and complex user interactions.
• You’ll take ownership across the stack, from backend logic through to user-facing features.
• You’ll turn loosely defined problems into working products.
• You’ll work closely with users to understand how they operate and improve how the product fits into their workflow.
• You’ll ship quickly, iterate often, and focus on building things that work in practice.

About you (skills/experience):

• A background working in high performing consultancies.
• You’re a product-focused or full-stack engineer who enjoys building from scratch.
• Have the ability to comfortably work with ambiguity and don’t rely on detailed specs.
• Have proven experience with modern web technologies, ideally TypeScript and React.
• You’ve worked with backend systems and understand how to design scalable services.
• You're interested in AI-driven products or have some exposure to them.
• You care about how things feel to the end user, not just how they’re built.
• You take ownership and are comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team.

Tech:

• TypeScript, Python
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
• Modern frontend frameworks (React or similar)
• Databases and APIs

Desirables:

• Experience in early-stage startups
• Exposure to workflow automation or AI-led products
• Experience building end-to-end systems
• Any background working with complex, high-value workflows
