80Twenty is a boutique marketing recruitment agency that connects high-growth companies with exceptional candidates.

Our client, a rapidly growing consumer subscription app within the sports industry is hiring for a talented GTM Engineer. Our client is VC funded, profitable with approximately $10m in ARR and 40k subscribers, looking to reach the next stage of growth. With their next round of funding approaching soon and much of that to be focused on GTM build out, our client is looking for a technical GTM Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure powering their growth engine.

This is a foundational engineering role sitting inside the marketing team built for someone who writes production-quality code and thinks in growth loops. The company has significant proprietary data assets and the technical infrastructure to unlock them across SEO, social, and programmatic channels. This person will own the systems that make that happen: from referral programs and landing page experimentation to new distribution channel development and full-stack martech integration. The role reports directly to the CMO and operates with broad technical and strategic ownership from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the architecture, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the full marketing technology stack, including CRMs, analytics platforms, tag managers, and ad platform integrations
  • Design and implement a comprehensive event tracking and data pipeline infrastructure across web and mobile, feeding clean behavioral data into analytics and marketing systems
  • Build and operate the experimentation platform supporting rigorous A/B testing, feature flags, and holdout groups — running multiple landing page and funnel tests per week
  • Rearchitect and scale the referral program through technical ownership of incentive logic, tracking, and attribution
  • Develop new distribution channels by engineering programmatic solutions — including SEO indexing of proprietary data, social automation, and content syndication infrastructure
  • Manage technical integrations with paid media platforms including server-side event APIs, pixel implementation, and audience sync pipelines
  • Translate marketing strategy into engineering specifications and partner with product engineers to embed growth instrumentation into the core product development process
  • Identify and instrument conversion bottlenecks across acquisition and onboarding funnels, implementing technical solutions to improve activation rates

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of software or data engineering experience with the ability to write clean, production-quality code in at least one backend language — this is a developer role
  • Hands-on implementation experience across the modern martech stack, including tools such as Braze, Google Tag Manager, Mixpanel, and major ad platform APIs
  • Proven ability to build and maintain data pipelines, design event taxonomies, and work with event-driven architectures and data warehouses
  • Experience building or operating A/B testing and experimentation frameworks, including statistical rigor, sample sizing, and holdout group management
  • Familiarity with attribution modeling approaches — last-touch, multi-touch, and incrementality — and experience implementing server-side conversion APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to create technical distribution infrastructure: SEO automation, social distribution tooling, or programmatic content systems is a strong plus
  • Entrepreneurial orientation — comfortable operating with limited structure, identifying opportunities independently, and shipping iteratively in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge marketing strategy and engineering implementation across a cross-functional team

Salary: $125,000 to $175,000
