RevOps Engineer
Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote (USA Only)
Focus: VC-backed B2B SaaS & AI
Opportunity: First hire - build & lead the RevOps function from the ground up
About UsWe are a VC consulting firm that embeds senior executives directly into venture-backed technology companies on a fractional basis. Our clients are founders and investors who need operating leadership not advisors. We work exclusively with VC-backed B2B SaaS and AI startups across verticals including EdTech, HealthTech, LegalTech, GovTech, MarTech, and others.
Until now, our RevOps function has been handled by a combination of agencies and independent contractors. We have reached the point where the volume and complexity of that work demands a dedicated internal owner. We are bringing this function in-house and hiring the person who will build it.
This is not a role where you will be handed a system and told to maintain it. You will design, build, and own the RevOps infrastructure that powers our entire client delivery operation.
The OpportunityIf you have spent the last several years doing this work inside an agency or as an independent contractor, ie. building outbound systems, automating workflows, and delivering results for multiple clients simultaneously, you already know the value you create. What you may not have is stability, ownership, and a platform to grow.
This role offers all three. You will be our first internal RevOps hire, with a clear path to building out a department as the firm continues to scale. You will stop selling your time to rotating clients and start building something that is yours to grow.
What You Will Own• Architect and operate end-to-end outbound systems across email and LinkedIn channels from data sourcing and enrichment through sequencing, delivery, and performance reporting.
• Build and maintain automated data pipelines using Clay, including enrichments, AI agents, data scraping, and custom integrations, to power outbound campaigns across multiple client engagements.
• Design and deploy multi-channel GTM workflows using n8n, connecting tools, automating handoffs, and eliminating manual work across the revenue stack.
• Manage LinkedIn outreach infrastructure using tools such as HeyReach, AimFox, or equivalent, including account management, sequence design, and deliverability.
• Own email outreach execution via Instantly, SmartLead, or equivalent platforms, including inbox setup, warm-up, sequencing, and reply handling.
• Build signal-based targeting logic: identify real buying windows, trigger-based outreach, and relevance-first prospecting, not volume-first spray-and-pray.
• Support our fractional executives and client engagements with the outbound infrastructure they need to generate pipeline and report outcomes.
• Document systems, build internal playbooks, and eventually hire and train a team beneath you as the function scales.
Required: Tool ExpertiseThe following are firm requirements. You must be able to operate at an expert level from day one, without a ramp period:
Clay
• Expert-level proficiency. You use Clay daily or near-daily.
• You have built complex data pipelines combining enrichments, AI prompts, waterfall logic, and data scraping from scratch.
• You understand Clay’s limitations and know how to work around them.
n8n
• Expert-level proficiency in building automated workflows and AI agents in n8n.
• You have connected multiple tools via API, built error-handling logic, and deployed workflows in production environments.
• You think in systems: you identify automation opportunities and build before being asked.
LinkedIn Outreach Automation
• Hands-on experience with HeyReach, AimFox, or a comparable LinkedIn automation platform.
• You understand account safety, connection request limits, warm-up protocols, and compliance considerations.
• You have run LinkedIn outreach at scale across multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Email Outreach Platforms
• Expert-level experience with Instantly, SmartLead, or both.
• You have managed sending infrastructure end-to-end: domain setup, inbox warm-up, deliverability monitoring, sequence architecture, and reply handling.
• You know what breaks deliverability and how to fix it before it becomes a problem.
Required: Background & ExperienceThe following experience requirements are non-negotiable:
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on RevOps experience, with the majority of that time spent inside an agency or operating as an independent contractor serving multiple B2B clients.
• You have built outbound systems for VC-backed B2B SaaS or AI companies. You understand how these organizations operate, what investors expect, and how founders think about pipeline.
• You have managed multiple client engagements simultaneously and delivered measurable outcomes — qualified pipeline, booked meetings, and revenue — not just activity metrics.
• You have worked with startups at the earliest stages — seed through Series B — where there is no playbook and you are expected to create one.
• You have operated independently. You do not need a manager to tell you what to build next.
This Is Not a Fit If…• You are primarily a strategist or consultant who delegates execution. This role requires deep, hands-on technical work.
• Your RevOps experience has been inside a single company. Agency or multi-client contractor experience is required.
• You have not used Clay and n8n in a production environment. Curiosity about these tools is not the same as fluency.
• You are looking for a clearly defined role with a narrow scope. This position will be ambiguous by design in the early months.
• You want to stay a contractor. We are hiring someone ready to make the transition to full-time and invest in building something lasting.
• You build volume-first outbound. We focus on relevance, signal, and buying intent. Spray-and-pray is not our model.
How to ApplyConnect and send me a brief message on LinkedIn. Tell us:
• Your current setup: are you at an agency, running your own practice, or contracting independently? How many clients are you managing at once?
• A specific system you have built in Clay and in n8n. What it does, what problem it solved, and what the outcome was.
• Your experience with LinkedIn automation tools, which platform(s) you have used and at what scale.
• Your email infrastructure setup, which sending platform(s) you use and how you manage deliverability.
• Why you are ready to go in-house and what you are looking for that contracting has not given you.
We will respond to every message that fits the profile above.
