Salary: $150,000 – $185,000 base salary + equity

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed technology startup building AI-powered software for the transportation and logistics industry. Backed by top-tier investors, the company is tackling large-scale, real-world operational problems in a space that moves the majority of goods across the U.S.
The team is small, highly collaborative, and deeply product-focused. Engineers work closely with founders and customers, have meaningful ownership, and play a direct role in shaping both the technical foundation and company culture as the product scales.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and scale core backend systems and infrastructure that power an AI-driven platform
- Take end-to-end ownership of features, from technical design through production deployment
- Build and maintain integrations, APIs, and data pipelines that support customer workflows
- Contribute to customer-facing product experiences on the frontend when needed
- Partner closely with founders, product, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world needs into robust technical solutions
- Improve system reliability, observability, and performance in a production environment
- Support and evolve AI workflows, including pipeline reliability and operational improvements
- Act as a senior technical resource for the team by debugging complex issues and raising engineering standards
Ideal Candidate Background
- Several years of professional experience as a full stack software engineer, with a strong backend focus
- Proven experience building and operating production backend systems in a startup or fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go or Python
- Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
- Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and distributed systems
- Comfortable owning projects independently and delivering high-quality solutions end-to-end
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working closely with cross-functional teams
Preferred
- Prior experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup
- Experience building integrations, data pipelines, or workflow-heavy systems
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools
- Interest in or experience working with AI-enabled products (e.g., LLMs, automation, or applied ML)
- Background in logistics, transportation, or operational software (nice to have, not required)
Compensation, Benefits, and Other Details
- Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $185,000 (flexible based on experience)
