THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a founding engineer who wants to help shape not just the product, but the team and culture around it. You'll be one of the earliest technical hires — close to every decision, with real ownership over how we build. This isn't a seat at the table. It is the table.

You'll work directly with the founders to define architecture, establish engineering practices, and ship features that users care about — all while helping us hire and grow the team around you.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Cross-platform mobile features in React Native and TypeScript — from product spec to App Store
Serverless API design and implementation on AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB/RDS
Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK or SAM, including CI/CD and deployment pipelines
End-to-end features spanning UI, API logic, data models, and observability
Early engineering standards: code review culture, testing strategy, on-call practices
Input on technical hiring — you'll interview and help us decide who joins

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful mobile or full-stack depth
Strong fundamentals: data structures, systems design, and the ability to make and defend architectural tradeoffs
Proven experience shipping in JavaScript or TypeScript — React Native or mobile experience is a strong plus
Comfort owning problems end to end, not waiting for a ticket or a spec
Experience with cloud infrastructure — AWS especially — beyond just "we used it in a project"
High communication bar: you can write a clear technical doc, give honest feedback in a PR, and push back constructively

WE BUILD WITH AI, NOT JUST ALONGSIDE IT

Every engineer here is expected to be a fluent, intentional user of agentic coding tools — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar. We're not looking for someone who uses autocomplete. We're looking for someone who thinks about how AI changes the way software gets designed, reviewed, and maintained.

In your application, tell us concretely how these tools fit into your workflow. Candidates who can speak to this with specificity will stand out.
