Remote | Full Time | 180K to 220K per year plus Equity
We are a fast growing, self funded consumer startup building an AI powered mobile experience in the personal development space.
Our founding team includes a globally recognized author and an experienced technical founder with a prior exit.
We recently launched and are seeing strong early traction. We are hiring a Staff level engineer to architect and scale the intelligence layer that powers personalization, product insight, and user trust.
This is a high ownership role working directly with the founders at a pivotal stage of growth.
The Role
You will own the architecture and evolution of our data and AI systems, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and built with privacy and trust at the foundation.
What You Will Do
Data and Infrastructure
Architect and own end to end data pipelines and AI infrastructure
Design scalable ingestion, transformation, and real time processing systems
Ensure reliability, observability, and long term scalability
Build systems with privacy and security as first principles
AI and Personalization
Develop and ship LLM powered product features
Design retrieval systems using embeddings and vector databases
Improve latency and performance of real time inference workflows
Create internal tooling to accelerate experimentation and iteration
Evaluation and Experimentation
Establish frameworks for measuring model quality, safety, and user impact
Build rigorous experimentation infrastructure to support product decisions
Translate ambiguous product ideas into production ready systems
Technical Leadership
Set architectural direction across AI, data, and backend systems
Mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards
Help define long term AI strategy as the company scales
What We Are Looking For
7 plus years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in data systems and applied AI
Experience shipping LLM or ML driven features into production
Strong understanding of prompt design, retrieval architectures, embeddings, and vector databases
Experience building scalable, low latency systems for personalization or real time inference
Strong product instincts and comfort operating in ambiguity
A user first mindset and interest in building thoughtful, human centered technology
Preferred experience includes modern Python based stacks, cloud infrastructure, and event driven systems.
