$150,000 – $200,000/yr| full-time | remote | senior
skills: python, azure, gcp, apis, webhooks, data pipelines, llm, agent frameworks, rag, vector databases, langchain, langgraph, claude code, workflow automation
Benefits:
$150,000–$200,000+ Includes base salary and performance-based bonus
(dependent on experience and location)
This is a remote position
This is not a research role. It's not a strategy deck role. It's a hands-on builder role sitting inside a 60-year-old restoration company with 100+ locations, and your first 12 to 24 months will be spent at a keyboard.
We're looking for someone who can walk into a room, listen to estimators and field operators describe their actual workflows, then go back to their desk and build working AI pilots themselves. Not manage builders. Not write specs for other teams to execute. Build.
You'll own the architecture for how AI fits across our field operations and back-office workflows. You'll evaluate vendor tools, kill the ones that don't work, and pour fuel on the ones that do. You'll orchestrate multiple AI pilots into a coherent system that estimators and project managers actually trust. And you'll work directly with non-technical field operators to understand what they need before you build anything.
What You'll Do
Since 1966, Paul Davis has been serving people on the worst day of their lives when disaster strikes their home or business. We're one of the largest restoration companies in North America, backed by a publicly traded parent with one of the healthiest balance sheets in the industry. We're a 60-year-old company in an industry that historically moves slowly on technology, and we're investing in this role because we want to flip that from a disadvantage into an advantage.

What You'll Do
- Learn our operations end-to-end by sitting with estimators, project managers, and field crews to understand how they actually work today.
- Evaluate the AI pilots we're currently running with industry vendors, identify what's showing promise, and accelerate the ones that do.
- Build working pilots yourself using modern tools like Claude Code, LangChain, LangGraph, and whatever else ships the fastest honest result.
- Integrate AI workflows with our existing estimation and job management platforms through APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
- Orchestrate multi-step AI workflows with real validation, retries, and human-in-the-loop safeguards so field teams can trust the output.
- Design the data pipelines, vector databases, and RAG systems that power the whole thing.
- Partner with IT and data teams on secure, compliant deployment.
- Real hands-on experience building with modern LLMs and agent frameworks. Not "I used ChatGPT at my last job." You've actually built and shipped agentic systems in production.
- Strong Python skills and comfort with modern cloud infrastructure on Azure or GCP.
- Experience connecting AI to real business systems through APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with non-technical operators and translate their workflows into working software.
- Willingness to be a solo IC builder for the first 12 to 24 months before any team gets built around you. If you're looking to manage people, this isn't the role.
- A track record of deploying AI solutions that measurably improved operational efficiency.
- Research scientists writing papers. Managers who build PowerPoint decks about AI strategy. Engineers who've drifted away from the keyboard. Anyone who needs a team of five to ship a pilot.
- Experience in construction, restoration, insurance claims, or service-based businesses with field operations.
- Background in workflow automation platforms like Zapier, n8n, or similar.
- A track record of building AI that augments non-technical users rather than replacing them.
