Founding Engineer | Python / TypeScript | AI Systems | NYC (Onsite)

Role: Founding Engineer / Member of Technical Staff

Location: New York City (in-office)

Compensation: $150k–$250k base + meaningful equity

Stage: Venture-backed, early-stage AI company

What you’ll be doing

• Building backend and product systems in a 0→1 environment
• Integrating LLMs and agents into real workflows
• Designing systems that handle real-time decisioning and user interaction
• Shipping quickly in a small, high-ownership team

Tech

• Python
• TypeScript / Next.js
• Cloud (GCP or AWS)
• LLMs, agents, embeddings

What we’re looking for

• Strong backend or full-stack engineer
• Experience building real systems in production
• Clear, structured thinker who can explain what they’ve built
• Comfortable in fast-moving, early-stage environments

Ideal background

• Startup experience or strong product ownership
• Exposure to AI systems (LLMs, agents, or similar) is a plus
• Typically early to mid-career engineers who want to move faster and own more
