Job Description:

We're looking for a full stack/ front end Software Engineer to build the frontend of a custom CMS platform from scratch. This is a greenfield opportunity — no legacy code — and you'll own the product end-to-end: UI, workflows, reader-facing templates, and editor tools.

You'll work in a small, fast-moving team, directly with the CTO and CEO, shipping code that goes live immediately. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments and enjoys building complex, scalable products.

Build and own the frontend of a new CMS platform using React + TypeScript.
Work with backend developers on Node.js, Python/FastAPI, and Postgres integrations.
Translate rough wireframes or feature ideas into fully functioning UI/UX.
Implement responsive, performant, and scalable interfaces for editors, advertisers, and readers.
Use AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development and maintain high-quality code.
Contribute to component architecture, state management, and overall frontend best practices.
Greenfield build: You'll own the frontend of a platform powering hundreds of news outlets.
Direct impact: Small team, work directly with CTO and CEO, ship code immediately.
Mission-driven: Rebuilding local news in a trusted, high-impact space.
Ownership & autonomy: Your work shapes the product, not just tickets in a backlog.

Requirements:

3-6 years experience in frontend or full-stack development.
Proven experience building complex single-page applications from scratch.
Strong React + TypeScript skills.
Comfortable working with backend code (Python/FastAPI, Node.js, Postgres).
Daily AI tool usage (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) — this is required.
Strong UX and product instincts.
Startup mindset: self-directed, pragmatic, and able to move fast with minimal guidance.

Nice to have:

Experience building multi-tenant or white-label products.
Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.
