Required Skills:

eCommerce / Payments experience (checkout, transactions, etc.)
Must have experience working in startups and understands the start-up environment (could be someone who has been a Founders / builder(s) of companies)
Experience owning platform-level architecture & performance optimization for high-traffic applications
Someone with 0→1 experience preferred -building from scratch and turned it into a working product
Comfortable with ambiguity and fast pace.

Must-Have Technical Skills (Lead Engineer)

TypeScript (Expert / Lead Level) - Ability to set coding standards, enforce best practices, and review code at scale

React (Advanced) - Architecting large-scale frontend applications

Node.js (Expert Backend) - Designing scalable, production-grade APIs and services / microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architecture

System Design (CRITICAL) - Designing end-to-end systems (frontend → backend → infra)

AWS (Strong Production Experience) - Hands-on with core services (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB)

Infrastructure decisions, scaling systems, production troubleshooting

API Architecture

SQL/NoSQL Database Design - Schema design, indexing, performance tuning

CI/CD & DevOps – Building, maintaining, and deploying pipelines

Code Quality & Engineering Standards - Code reviews, testing strategies (unit/integration); Establishing best practices across teams

AI (Minimal Expectation) - Basic familiarity with LLM integrations (nice to have); Ability to support AI features, but NOT required to build AI systems; Comfortable using tools like Claude Code for productivity (optional)

Leadership + Ownership + Collaboration

Own architecture decisions across the stack

Guide engineers on implementation and design

Mentor junior/mid engineers and enforce clean, scalable coding practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration - Works closely with Product + Design

Translates business needs into technical solutions
