Overview

We are seeking a highly driven and technically versatile Sr. Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of a custom-built e-commerce platform. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and evolving a proprietary system that powers complex, multi-tenant online storefronts.

This is a high-impact, autonomous role where you will act as the primary technical owner of a live platform while also helping shape its future direction. The ideal candidate thrives in a self-directed environment and enjoys building, improving, and scaling real-world products.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Development

• Take full ownership of an existing e-commerce platform
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance and reliability
• Implement new features and enhancements based on business needs
• Manage and evolve a centralized product database powering multiple storefronts
• Ensure seamless integration with third-party services (e.g., payment processing, inventory systems)

Enhancement & Innovation

• Translate business ideas into technical solutions and product improvements
• Contribute to the platform roadmap and recommend scalable solutions
• Improve automation, performance, and user experience
• Implement front-end updates (HTML, CSS, layouts) based on design inputs

System Management

• Monitor system health and proactively resolve issues
• Collaborate with external partners for knowledge transfer when needed
• Maintain documentation and ensure system continuity

Technology Environment

• Backend: Ruby on Rails (or similar web frameworks)
• Cloud: AWS (or equivalent)
• Payments: Stripe or similar integrations
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• E-commerce / multi-store architecture
• API integrations and open-source tools

Qualifications Required

• Strong experience with full-stack development (backend + frontend)
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks (Ruby on Rails preferred)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and services
• Ability to independently manage and improve production systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously

Preferred

• Experience with e-commerce platforms or marketplace systems
• Familiarity with payment systems (Stripe or similar)
• Experience working in small teams or high-ownership environments
• Exposure to scalable or multi-tenant architectures
