STAFF DATA SCIENTIST, PRODUCT — EXPERIMENTATION & CAUSAL INFERENCE
$180K – $210K BASE
REMOTE — US (EST HOURS)
Are you excited about fixing broken experimentation culture and building a best-in-class testing and causal inference framework from the ground up?
Do you want to partner directly with product and executive leadership to shape how decisions are made across a fast-growing SaaS platform?
THE COMPANY
A high-growth, venture-backed B2B SaaS company powering mission-critical workflows for thousands of businesses globally.
- Strong product-market fit with a rapidly expanding customer base
- Backed by top-tier investors with a clear path toward IPO
- Leadership team deeply invested in data-driven decision making
- Increasing focus on experimentation, product analytics, and ML-driven insights
THE ROLE
As a Staff Data Scientist, you’ll act as the technical anchor for experimentation and causal inference, owning both the strategy and execution of how the company tests, learns, and makes product decisions.
- Rebuild and scale the company’s experimentation framework (A/B, Bayesian, causal methods)
- Own the experimentation roadmap and influence product and engineering leaders
- Design and evaluate experiments across web and in-app experiences
- Apply causal inference methods when randomized testing isn’t feasible
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to drive data-informed decisions
- Train and mentor other data scientists on advanced statistical methods
- Evaluate and implement experimentation tooling and best practices
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years in data science or product analytics
- Experimentation (A/B testing, Bayesian methods, sequential testing, multi-arm bandits)
- Causal inference (DiD, propensity modeling, uplift modeling, etc.)
- Strong product intuition within a SaaS environment:
- Feature adoption, retention, churn, growth loops, user lifecycle
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Comfortable in GitHub environments (PRs, code reviews, collaboration)
Nice to have:
- Experience selecting or implementing experimentation platforms
- Familiarity with modern AI tools (e.g., coding copilots, LLM-assisted workflows)
THE BENEFITS
- Competitive base salary ($180K – $210K)
- Fully remote (US, EST collaboration)
- High-visibility role with direct access to executive leadership
- Opportunity to define and scale experimentation culture company-wide
- Work on complex product problems with real business impact
Why This Role
You won’t just run experiments — you’ll define how experimentation works across the company.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where the foundation exists but needs to be rebuilt — giving you the chance to shape the roadmap, influence leadership, and elevate the entire organization’s approach to data-driven decision making.
