Artificial Intelligence Engineer
Mountain Capital Partners owns and operates 10+ ski resorts across the western United States. We're a small, fast-moving team building the internal technology that runs our business — data pipelines, analytics dashboards, and operational tools used by resort managers in real time.
What This Role IsWe're looking for an AI-native developer to join our team for the summer. Not someone who uses AI as a spell-checker someone who reaches for Cursor, Claude Code, Cline, or a similar agent as their default way of building, and who has the judgment to steer it well.
You'll work on real problems: analytics tools, internal dashboards, data integrations, and workflow automation that help our resort operators make better decisions. You won't be writing documentation or sitting in onboarding sessions. You'll be shipping things.
Based in Durango, Colorado. Hybrid WFH options availible as well as paid housing — if you've wanted to spend a summer in ski country doing real technical work, this is it.
What You'll Build- Internal analytics dashboards pulling from our data warehouse
- Automation tools that reduce manual work for HR, operations, and finance teams
- AI-powered query interfaces for non-technical resort staff
- Data pipelines and integrations connecting our business systems
You'll work alongside our AI Dev team and have direct visibility into how the business runs. Every tool you build will be used by real people at real resorts.
Who We're Looking ForMust-have:
- You code with AI agents as your primary workflow — not just autocomplete, but actual agentic development
- Public GitHub profile with real shipped work (required on the application)
- You can explain what you built, what the agent did, and how you validated the output
- 1–2 years left in school (junior, senior, or first-year master's)
- Self-directed — you work best when given a problem, not a ticket queue
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Strong fit:
- Full-stack or product-builder background (React, Next.js, Python, Node, or similar)
- Familiarity with Cursor, Claude Code, Cline, Aider, v0, LangChain, or similar agentic tools
- You're a skier, snowboarder, climber, mountain biker, trail runner, or otherwise outdoors-oriented
