Senior Edge + Backend Software Engineer (Founding Team)

Location: New York, NY (Williamsburg)

Schedule: On-site Monday–Thursday (4 days/week)

Compensation: $180K – $200K base

About the Company

This company is building the world’s first Connectivity Digital Twin — an AI-powered platform that designs and simulates WiFi and cellular network architectures at scale.

This is deep tech, not just LLM wrappers — combining geometric computation, GPU-accelerated simulation, and real-world connectivity intelligence.

Backed by strong investors with active customers and clear growth trajectory, the team is small, experienced, and highly technical. The company operates out of a modern Williamsburg office and offers a highly collaborative, builder-focused environment.

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Edge + Backend Software Engineer (5–10 years experience) to join the founding team and help build a new hardware + software product from the ground up.

This is a high-impact, ownership-heavy role where you’ll work across edge systems, backend services, and data pipelines to power real-world telemetry and connectivity insights.

What You’ll Do

Architect and build a production-grade edge agent (Linux-based) that is resilient and self-healing
Design and own device-to-cloud data flows, schemas, and ingestion pipelines
Develop and operate Python backend services and APIs
Work across the full stack — from edge devices → data transmission → backend systems → occasional frontend contributions
Partner with a small, high-performing team to anticipate system needs and build scalable telemetry infrastructure
Contribute wherever needed in a true startup environment

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

Strong experience with Python backend development
Experience working with telemetry data, data pipelines, or device-generated data
Background in startup environments (ideally Seed to Series A)
Comfortable working on-site in NYC (4 days/week)

We are intentionally broadening the profile — strong candidates may come from one or more of the following areas:

Backend / Data Engineering
Python services, APIs, ingestion pipelines
Experience with distributed systems or data infrastructure
Edge / IoT Engineering
Linux-based systems, embedded devices, or IoT environments
Experience shipping device-side software
Systems / Telemetry / Observability
Metrics, monitoring systems, reliability engineering
Experience working with high-volume telemetry data

👉 You do not need to have experience across all three areas — strength in one or two is a strong fit.
