Founding Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)
San Francisco - onsite / $180K-$250K base + equity
Own end-to-end delivery of AI-powered products, working directly with users to design, build, and scale production systems. High ownership role spanning product thinking, architecture, and hands-on engineering.
Role:
- Build full stack systems using TypeScript, React/Next.js, Python, AWS
- Design scalable data models and APIs supporting high-volume usage
- Integrate LLM capabilities into real workflows and ship quickly with users
- Own architecture across infra, async jobs, caching, reliability patterns
- Work directly with customers to iterate from idea - production
Profile:
- Strong 0-1 builder with full stack depth
- Experience designing scalable systems and clean APIs
- Comfortable working directly with users and ambiguity
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into products
Nice to have:
- Prompt engineering or LLM optimization
- Agentic workflows or RAG experience
- Startup or FDE background
