About the Role
Our venture studio, led by a unicorn healthcare Founder and former CEO, is launching an innovative AI-powered LLM designed to revolutionize healthcare administration. We're seeking a dynamic Founding Engineer to serve as an equal partner with the CEO, building our initial product and growing into a player-coach engineering leader as we scale.
Healthcare faces escalating administrative demands that drain resources from patient care. Our AI-enhanced platform aims to automate and optimize these workflows, elevating patient outcomes while enhancing provider efficiency. This represents a transformative opportunity to reshape an entire industry.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Strategy: You'll build the initial product from the ground up, working directly with your Co-Founder/CEO and the venture studio team including our unicorn Founder who serves as Board Chair. Drive technology strategy by owning the evolution of key strategic technologies and technical architecture, while making digital capabilities integral to our business model through trend analysis and customer behavior insights.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Data Analytics teams on data acquisition, warehousing, and AI/ML strategies. Partner with business stakeholders and academic forums to identify growth opportunities and integrate multiple partners with our business vision.
Technical Leadership & Operations: Design technical architectures and solutions supporting healthcare delivery missions. Manage outsourced infrastructure services with accountability to 24x7 healthcare standards. Oversee KPIs, budget management, and technology resource alignment with short and long-term organizational goals.
Innovation & Growth: Demonstrate high tolerance for bold initiatives including new business development and cutting-edge technology adoption. Discover, incubate, and scale disruptive business models while building networks across startup communities for partnerships and acquisitions. Bring new business concepts to life quickly using modern technical proof-of-concept methods.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualities: Above all, we need someone with exceptional passion and drive who can motivate themselves and others to build incredible, marketable products. You must be a scrappy builder with proven experience building products from scratch (de novo, without existing codebases) either professionally or personally, whether with no engineering support or very small teams.
Experience: Proven leadership track record and entrepreneurial success in healthcare or technology sectors. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
Preferred but Not Required: Deep healthcare industry understanding (particularly in areas like prior authorization), AI/ML product development experience (whether self-taught or professional), and familiarity with design and product management models.
