Founding Product Engineer | San Francisco | $230K–$300K + significant equity

An early-stage AI start-up backed by $7.5M from top-tier investors is looking for its first engineering hire. The company builds AI co-workers for enterprise teams. Not chatbots. Actual agents that handle the high-coordination, high-urgency operational work that slows the best people down.

The founders previously scaled an enterprise AI business from zero to $100M in two years. Design partners are live. The company is moving fast.

The founding product engineer will be writing code alongside the founders from day one, in the room for every customer call and product decision, and building agent infrastructure with no playbook. In a year they will be hiring the team beneath them and owning entire product surfaces end to end.

This role is for someone who has genuinely built AI agent systems before (tool use, multi-step reasoning, memory, autonomy), has thrived at an early-stage start-up with no spec and no PM, and is strong across the full stack with a backend lean.

Based in SF or willing to relocate. Hybrid, 3 to 4 days in office. No visa sponsorship available.
