Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer
Location: New York, NY or Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $125K – $250K
Overview
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of modern fintech and distributed systems, helping to redefine how money moves globally. The role sits within a small, senior engineering team and involves close collaboration with executive leadership to design and deliver core product capabilities.
Important Requirement
Candidates must have prior experience in payments, fintech, or a startup environment. This background is essential given the complexity, pace, and ownership expectations of the role.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features across web and mobile platforms
- Own projects end-to-end, from initial concept through to production deployment
- Integrate with third-party financial and payments systems (e.g. processors, banking infrastructure, on/off-ramps, identity and compliance tools)
- Develop scalable, high-performance systems capable of handling large volumes of financial transactions
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and system reliability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams
Requirements
- Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Production experience building mobile applications with React Native (Expo experience preferred)
- Proven track record of delivering complex product features from concept to launch
- Ability to debug and operate across the full stack
- Solid understanding of security best practices, especially in handling sensitive financial data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity in an early-stage startup setting
Preferred Experience
- Background in payments, fintech integrations (e.g. Stripe, Plaid, ACH), or blockchain infrastructure
- Prior experience as an early engineer in a startup, with significant product ownership
