Lead Instructor & Curriculum Developer โ€” MakerSquare

 ๐Ÿ“ Austin, TX ยท Full-time ยท In-person

We're launching a 4-week AI builder program in Austin this July. Every student ships three deployed AI products before Demo Day. This hire is what makes that possible.

About MakerSquare

Most AI education is broken. Courses leave people with notes and certificates. Bootcamps teach syntax. YouTube tutorials get you to "hello world" and stop. Nobody is actually getting non-technical people โ€” the operators, founders, and domain experts who have the most to gain โ€” to the point where they can build and ship real AI products. That's the gap MakerSquare exists to close.

We're a 4-week, in-person AI builder program in Austin launching our first cohort in July 2026. Our

students aren't learning about AI โ€” they're leaving with three deployed products, the skills to keep

building, and a Demo Day in front of Austin's tech community. The curriculum covers what people

genuinely can't figure out on their own: production prompting, RAG, agents, evals, and real deployment using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Supabase, Lovable, and Railway.

We're early. Cohort 1 is 15 people. This is the moment where the decisions you make โ€” what to teach,

how to teach it, what the bar for "shipped" looks like โ€” become the foundation of everything that

follows. If you've ever wanted to build an educational program from the ground up, with full ownership, at a company that's genuinely trying to do something new, this is that opportunity.

The role

You own two things equally: what we teach and how well we teach it. You're designing the curriculum, leading sessions (Mon/Wed/Fri, 9amโ€“3pm), unblocking builders during sprints, and iterating everything based on what students actually struggle with.

This is not a lecture role. The bar is whether students ship real, deployed products. Everything else is secondary.

One thing that matters above all: you treat the curriculum as a living product, not a one-time

deliverable. What you build for Cohort 1 should be meaningfully different by Cohort 2. AI moves fast โ€” MakerSquare's value depends on staying ahead of it.

 What you own

 - Full curriculum design: modules, lessons, exercises, project scaffolds, rubrics โ€” documented so it's

teachable by future instructors, not just you

 - Live instruction and build sprint facilitation across all 12 sessions + Demo Day

 - Written feedback on every student's shipped products

 - Post-cohort retrospectives and curriculum refresh before the next cohort

 - Admissions interviews and pre-work evaluation

 Must-haves

 - Proven ability to teach non-technical audiences clearly โ€” no jargon, concrete examples, outcomes-first

 - Real builder: you've deployed AI-powered tools, can demo multiple distinct workflows you've

personally built, and use AI actively across writing, research, ops, and product

 - Hands-on with the tools we teach: Claude API, Cursor, RAG pipelines (Supabase/Pinecone), UI tools

 (Lovable/Bolt), Railway, ElevenLabs/Whisper

 - Curriculum design chops โ€” you can turn a messy goal into a structured, sequenced learning experience someone else could deliver

 - Genuine curiosity about the AI landscape โ€” you're the one flagging when the curriculum is outdated, not waiting to be told

 Nice-to-haves

 - Taught yourself AI tools from scratch (you know the learning curve our students face)

 - Background in enablement, onboarding, or training at a tech company

 - Solutions engineering or customer success experience

 - Cohort-based or bootcamp teaching experience

 Not a fit if:

 - You treat curriculum as a fixed deliverable rather than something that evolves every cohort

 - Your AI experience is theoretical or demo-only

 - You default to engineering depth over practical accessibility

 Compensation

 $8,500 - $10,000/month ยท Full-time ยท Austin, TX (in-person) ยท Start: Late May/June 2026
