Pre-seed applied AI startup based in NYC, recently raised $2M+ from Tier-1 VCs with talks for larger expansion on the horizon. They've signed up some great clients and the demand for their product is huge. The company is building AI-native developer tooling for engineers working on complex, mission-critical hardware systems. They are now looking to bring on a Machine Learning Engineer to continue building on the work of their founding team.
Requirements

Design and ship ML systems that run reliably in production
Work with messy, unstructured data to build clean model-ready pipelines
Build and iterate on agentic AI systems including RAG and retrieval infrastructure
Fine-tune and evaluate foundation models for a specialised technical domain
Contribute to how ML outputs impacts the customer experience of the core product

Qualifications

1-3+ years in a full-time MLE role
Solid Math background
Proficient in PyTorch
Experienced building agentic AI systems and RAG-based retrieval pipelines
Working knowledge of AWS
High ownership mentality
