Machine Learning Engineer
Machine Learning Engineer wanted by a seed stage startup based in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. This is a founding engineer role for an applied AI company, building AI tools to automate how engineers program real-world machines - solving several longstanding problems in their sector.
After a successful seed round and signing some notable clients, they’re looking for a founding Machine Learning Engineer to work directly with the CTO and shape both the product and the core ML systems. 2+ years building production ML systems using PyTorch and AWS is required, and in return this role offers a fantastic opportunity to be an early part of a hyper growth environment.
What you’ll do
- Design real-world ML systems (not just POCs / prototypes)
- Build and deploy LLM-powered systems (agents, RAG, embeddings)
- Work on real-world data and turn it into usable intelligence
- Help define product direction alongside the founders
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer
- Solid Python skills + experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch)
- Commercial use of AWS for scaling ML services
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, or retrieval systems
- Proven track record of shipping ML systems into production
- Excited by early-stage startups and founding-level ownership
This is a true founding engineer opportunity (5-person team at the moment) for a machine learning engineer to work on AI applied to the physical world, not just chatbots!
