About Eagle
We’re building Pixar Studios for the built environment.
Backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Eagle acquires and transforms civil, structural, and MEP engineering firms with applied AI. We are an AI laboratory dedicated to providing engineers with the tools they need to solve the world’s hardest infrastructure, energy, and climate problems.
By arming designers with frontier technology, our ambition is to build the most valuable, talent-dense engineering firm in the U.S.
Why this role matters
Our core thesis: 85% of what engineers do today is theoretically automatable, yet less than 5% has actually been touched by AI. That gap is the largest of any profession. Our plan is to close it by acquiring real engineering firms, building purpose-built tools for their staff, and compounding that proprietary intelligence across acquisitions.
As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll work directly with the founders to ship Cortex — the data platform that powers everything we do. You'll be embedded alongside practicing engineers, building systems that make institutional knowledge searchable, automate QA, and generate engineering deliverables from templates and data.
What you'll do
Build and deploy the core layers of our platform: data connectors, document intelligence that reads and understands AEC artifacts (drawings, specs, reports, calculations), and a structured knowledge store that gets richer with time.
Own zero-to-one systems across LLM pipelines, document parsing, and backend infrastructure, then come back to compound the wins as the platform grows
Work directly with our design partners and see your work used by practicing engineers within weeks of shipping
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI frameworks, tools, and best practices
Help us build the engineering culture you’d want to work in
What we look for
Strong builder instincts and end-to-end ownership
Track record of shipping AI/infra/backend features fast
Experience or interest in LLMs, Agent Frameworks, RAG, browser automation, or doc parsing
Bias for action, debugging in prod, and learning from real-world usage
Not above any task — can write the scraper, deploy the server, and call the customer
Compensation
Competitive base salary ($150K–$300K depending on experience)
Meaningful early-stage equity
Full healthcare benefits
In-person office in NYC with team meals, fast iteration cycles, and real user exposure
