Founding Engineer
Compensation: $400+k total (base + guaranteed bonus), all cash. We will pay more for the right person.
We are looking for a very high skill and high energy software engineer who is familiar with production grade data+ML/AI infrastructure and automated data analysis, and who is interested in agent orchestration.
We are building a new system entirely from scratch that applies LLMs and multi-agent architectures to a problem that has never been successfully systematized. This is an R&D project - something we have never done before in 30 years of trading - to launch a completely new automated investment analysis system within an extremely fundamental/qualitative/Buffett-like investment framework.
The initial team will be 3 people – including you. You will be responsible for all software engineering. This is a very high leverage and high responsibility role, with huge capacity for personal development and role expansion.
We are doing this with huge rigor, energy, and substantial financial backing. You will be the founding engineer. You will design and build the system from scratch, i.e., the architecture, the infrastructure, the agent orchestration, the evaluation framework, everything. There is no existing codebase, no legacy system, no committee.
We are looking for someone who has been building with, or at least seriously thinking about, LLMs and multi-agent systems for the past 12+ months. You will have thought deeply about failure modes, evaluation, and context management. You will probably have tried multiple orchestration frameworks and found them all inadequate in different ways.
You need to be a seriously rigorous SWE. You should be comfortable setting up cloud infrastructure from zero and building production-grade systems, not just prototypes.
If this works, it and you become a core part of a $20bn fund. If it doesn't show sufficient promise after 12 months, the project winds down. You will be paid in full either way.
