We re looking for a hands-on VP of Engineering (CTO-level) to lead the development of a next-generation Industrial AI & Edge Computing platform.
This is a builder role, not a pure management position you ll stay close to the code, make critical architecture decisions, and work alongside a small, elite team to ship production systems from 0 1.
What You Ll Do

Own end-to-end architecture across edge, cloud, and distributed systems
Build scalable platforms integrating IoT, sensors, video, and industrial data (PLC/OPC-UA/Modbus)
Stay hands-on: write code, review PRs, debug production issues
Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team
Drive development of AI-powered industrial solutions (vision, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, operations optimization)
Partner with founders to shape product strategy and roadmap

What We Re Looking For

8+ years in senior engineering leadership (VP / CTO / Head of Eng)
Strong hands-on experience with Python / TypeScript
Background in heavy industries (manufacturing, energy, utilities, oil & gas, defense)
Proven experience building 0 1 products in startups
Deep expertise in:

AI/ML, Agentic AI
IoT, Edge Computing, Sensor-driven systems
Distributed systems & cloud architecture
Data platforms & simulation systems

Nice to Have

Experience with high-fidelity simulation platforms
Robotics / autonomous systems background
Located in or open to Texas
