Senior Machine Learning Engineer — Deep Learning / Model Training

We're working with an early-stage AI security startup building infrastructure to help enterprises monitor and validate AI systems in production. They are already generating revenue and looking for their first dedicated ML hire to own the core model development.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and training deep learning models end-to-end
• Working with large-scale datasets to improve model performance, robustness, and accuracy
• Experimenting with neural network architectures including transformer-based models
• Building training pipelines — data processing, fine-tuning, evaluation
• Investigating model behaviour in edge cases and failure scenarios
• Contributing to systems that make AI outputs reliable and secure in production

What they're looking for

• Strong hands-on experience training models from scratch or fine-tuning at scale — this is a builder role, not an LLM application role
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Solid understanding of model training workflows, optimisation techniques, and evaluation metrics
• Experience with transformer models, NLP, or related domains
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote-first, early-stage environment

Nice to have

Background in cybersecurity, adversarial ML, or AI safety · Experience on production ML systems · Exposure to high-stakes or regulated environments
