Staff Backend AI Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Backend AI Engineer to help us meet the demands of our rapidly growing commercial pipeline.
The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor with a co-founder mindset, capable of balancing engineering excellence with the speed required in a startup environment.
You will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating the critical backend AI systems that power our intelligent care orchestration platform.
What will you be doing?
Design, develop, and operate the backend systems that power our agent-driven care orchestration workflows, including service orchestration and inference pipelines.
Take end-to-end ownership of critical systems: you will build it, deploy it, watch it, and iterate on it.
Ship and maintain production-grade AI systems with real customer dependency and strict reliability, latency, and correctness requirements.
Contribute to the architectural design of our AI-driven platform, emphasizing scalability and clean integrations.
Participate in an on-call rotation with the entire engineering team to lead incident resolution when production issues arise.

6-8+ years of experience backend engineering focused on building and operating production AI systems.
Work Experience
Experience with production- grade AI systems (e. g. , RAG systems, ML inference, agentic systems)
